The Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Central Diocese of Tanzania says it is aware of the challenges that Malawi is passing through due to Cyclone Freddy, hence the need to join hands as nations to support the affected communities.

Reverend Paulo Matili of Arusha Town Lutheran Cathedral in Tanzania said this in Mzuzu when the church made a donation to the country through Saint Andrews CCAP Church of the Synod of Livingstonia for Cyclone Freddy survivors.

“We know that Malawi is going through a lot of challenges like floods, cyclones and many more and as a church we decided to show our love donating these items,” Matili said.

Speaking on behalf of CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, Reverend Chipasi Chirwa thanked the Evangelical Lutheran Church for the donation which he said will be delivered to government through the Department of Disaster and Management Affairs.

Member of Parliament for Mzuzu City Bennex Mwamlima said the donation made the church is a true reflection of the cordial relationship that exists between Malawi and Tanzania.

The donation includes clothes.
